5+ Design Ideas – Modern house with interior design in black and white

A modern house is located on the edge of an old crater in Aukland, New Zealand. The Lucerne House of Daniel Marshall Architects offers an extravagant view of the Waitamata Harbor and the city of Auckland.
The owners had very specific wishes for their modern house and a priority concern was the possibility of providing a number of vintage cars.
Daniel Marshall Architects have decided to create a courtyard and provide enough parking space for the cars. The garage doors have been designed to disappear into the exterior with cedar wood trim. After entering the house, the visitors are lured to the living area where the view of the Auckland landscape is revealed beyond. The curved shape of the infinity pool recalls the shape of the basins of the Orakei volcano and draws the ocean closer to the house.
A modern home is designed to be quiet, sophisticated with a limited range of materials. The interior architecture is dominated by clear lines and shapes, dominated by the black and white palette. A number of tailor-made appliances that have been specially designed for the home by the architects, emphasize the luster of the setting. These include a chandelier with mouth-blown glass balls by Katie Brown, a door handle made by David White and the wall panels behind the dining table, painted by Daniel Marshall, resembling a concrete.
